Sketching the Dream...

"In Brazil... I experienced a moment where I was proud to be the daughter of Human Beings. This changed my life. I felt Beautiful, confident. I had seen how our ancestors danced, wove, and made pottery... At our core, we have come to be artistic by nature. Storytelling is our lifeblood. When we look around us, we appreciate beauty, when we meet each other, we are telling stories. Many native people know we, like beaver's making wetlands, in our ancient ways, are propagators of diversity. And we are in awe of the beauty of the world we are a part of. I want to enliven that innate desire. To nourish our creative essence. One trick, in my writing, is to write at the pace our ancestors lived, with the details they would have noticed. Slow, detailed, beautiful. My work is a chance to be deeply in moments unfolding." Maddox Lightning~
